Das Country-Duo The Wilburn Brothers bestand aus Doyle Wilburn, geboren am 7. Juli 1930 in Hardy, Arkansas, als Virgil Doyle Wilburn, verstorben am 16. Oktober 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee, an Krebs, sowie Teddy Wilburn, geboren am 30. November 1931 in Hardy, Arkansas, als Thurman Theodore Wilburn, verstorben am 24. November 2003 im Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, an einem Herzfehler.
Ihre Karriere begannen sie als sie als Wilburn Family gemeinsam mit ihren älteren Brüdern Lester Lloyd (9.5.1924-2.9.1990), Leslie Floyd (13.10.1925-15.1.2005) und ihrer Schwester Vinita Geraldine, verehelichte Grisham (5.6.1927-4.4.2011), durch die Lande zogen aber wegen den jüngeren Mitglieder der "Family" mit dem Kinderarbeitsgesetz in Konflikt kamen. Erst 1950 konnte die Wilburn Family als Quartett, Schwester Geraldine war nicht mehr dabei, die ersten Platten veröffentlichen. Nach Teddy's und Doyle's Ableistung des Wehrdienstes machten Beide als Duo The Wilburn Brothers weiter.
