Hallo Forum,
mir stellt sich gerade die Frage wozu überhaupt Harry Belafonte im Rock'n'Roll Schallpltten Forum ? :?

Natürlich war Harry Belafonte einer der erfolgreichsten Künstler der 50er und 60er Jahre - jedoch hat er mit Rock'n'Roll nicht viel zu tun.

Aber: wenn hier Bedarf besteht (und das scheint ja der Fall zu sein), dann ist er hier wohl richtig.

Ich möchte auch locker sein, aber vielleicht bin ich nur ein bißchen nostalgisch kindisch. Wir waren eben damals jung und Calypso hin oder her, "Cocoanut Woman" war für uns genauso Rocknroll wie Little Richard oder Gene Vincent und die "Lamourhatscher" (Slows) "Haiti Cherie", "Jamaica Farewell" oder "Island In The Sund" waren für die Annäherung an das andere Geschlecht für uns genauso wichtig wie die "Slows" von Elvis oder vielen anderen. Daher bin ich gerne Dieter's Idee gefolgt.
Mein Fehler (oder auch nicht) ist, dass ich zusehr dem Zeitgeist der Fünfzigerjahre nachhänge. Das entbindet mich vielleicht auch unbewußt von dem Bestreben, Rocknroll musikalisch einordnen zu wollen, was einem Lebenswerk gleichkommt, welches nie zu einem Ziel führt
