Kurz-Bio:
Der Musiker Rodney Lay wurde am 13. Februar 1940 in Coffeyville, Kansas, geboren. Mit 17 Jahren bildete er bereits seine eigene Band Rodney & The Offbeats, die 1960 zu Rodney & The Blazers wurden und ihre erste Single bei ihrem eigens dafür gegründeten Label KAMPUS in Coffeyville, Kansas, einspielten und veröffentlichten.
Die Besetzung der gemischtrassigen Instrumental-Band, Gitarrist und Pianist waren schwarz, war wie folgt:
