Kurz-Bio:
Die Sängerin Jeanne Gayle wurde 1914 in Montana als Martha M. McBride geboren und lebte dann in Portland, Oregon, wo sie in den Dreißigerjahren mit ihren Schwestern Virginia, geboren 1913, und Hazel, geboren 1915, als Mitglied der McBride Sisters auftrat. Für ihre Solo-Auftritte verwendete sie den Bühnennamen Jean Porter und als solche lernte sie in Portland den Musiker und Orchesterleiter George Bruns kennen, den sie 1940 heiratete. Als ihr Gatte den Posten eines Musikdirektors bei KEX angeboten wurde, zogen sie nach Los Angeles, wo Martha ihre Solo-Karriere bei CAPITOL mit ihrem neuen Bühnennamen Jeanne Gayle fortsetzte.
