Der Pianist, Komponist, Arrangeur, Orchester- und Chorleiter Ray Bloch wurde am 3. August 1902 im deutschen Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen, heute Frankreich, als Raymond A. Bloch geboren und verstarb am 29. März 1982 in Miami, Florida. Im ersten Weltkrieg wanderte die Familie in die USA aus, wo er als Teenager aufwuchs und seine musikalische Karriere vorerst als Pianist bei diversen Bands begann.
