PHILIPS-EP-Serien mit "Various Artists"

Bei der europäischen PHILIPS gab es eine Reihe von "Various Artists"-EP-Serien. Die Idee diese vorzustellen bekam ich, als ich auf einem Flohmarkt ein Cover einer solchen Serie bekam, allerdings war eine völlig andere Single darin. Außerdem hatte die Hülle, ein "antikes" Stück, schon Einiges abgekommen, was hoffentlich nicht allzusehr stört. Die Akropolis ist auch schon sehr desolat und trotzdem besichtigen sie Alle die in ihre Nähe kommen.
Ich beginne mit der niederländischen Serie "FAVOURITES for ever" die aber, zumindest zum Teil, auch länderspezifisch (z. B. deutsche PHILIPS) übernommen wurde.

Eine sehr populäre EP-Serie bei PHILIPS war "THE BIG FOUR", die ich hiemit vorstellen möchte, denn sie hat auch organisatorisch eine Besonderheit. Sie wurde 1955 begonnen und 1956 von den Briten übernommen. Die Briten übernahmen aber nur die "No. 1" und setzten ab "No 2" mit eigens gestalteten Zusammenstellungen fort was kein Problem war, da sie auf eine eigene Nummerierung bestanden und daher eine Verwechslung nicht möglich war. Die eindhovener Zentralnummer musste aber wie üblich auch auf den britischen Platten aufscheinen und ist in der folgenden Aufstellung violett und in Klammer gesetzt.
In der folgenden Aufstellung werden auch die britischen Ausgaben der kontinentaleuropäischen gegenübergestellt, da sie sich ab "No. 2" unterscheiden. Die britische Serie wurde mit No. 12 beendet und daher gibt es von No. 13 bis No. 20 nurmehr die kontinentaleuropäische.
Ob diverse kontinentaleuropäische Länder fallweise auch die britische Serie übernommen haben, ist mir leider nicht bekannt. Jedenfalls konnten diese Veröffentlichungen nur mit der "Zentralnummer" (violett) erfolgen.
