Der Songwriter und Country-Sänger Bill Nettles wurde am 13. März 1903 (lt. Joel Whitburn 1907) in Natchitoches, Louisiana, als William F. Nettles geboren und verstarb am 5. April 1967 in Monroe, Louisiana. Er und sein Bruder Norman leiteten in Shreveport bereits diverse Gesangs-Gruppen wie die Dixie Blue Boys, die Nettles Brothers etc. 1937 erschien seine erste 78er auf VOCALION.
