Der Westernsänger und Songwriter Ray Whitley wurde am 5. Dezember 1901 in Atlanta, Georgia, als Raymond Otis Whitley geboren und verstarb am 21. Februar 1979 im Flugzeug auf dem Flug nach Mexiko an einem Herzinfarkt. Sein Schwiegersohn Hal Bracken hatte ihn zu einem Anglerausflug nach Mexiko eingeladen, den er mit Freude annahm. Dieser Ray Whitley ist nicht zu verwechseln mit jenem Ray Whitle in 02.), der erst im Jahre 1943 geboren wurde. Der Sänger, Songwriter und Filmstar Ray Whitley wurde am 22. November 1943 in Columbus, Georgia, als Robert Ray Whitley geboren. Erstmals auf einer Single tauchte er 1958 bei den Blue Chips aus Artlanta auf und ab 1961 ging es bei VEE JAY mit Solo-Singles los. Diesen Interpreten stellte Dieter in #9 & #10 bereits kurz vor.
