Kenneth Charles Howard (26 December 1939 – 24 September 2024) was an English songwriter, lyricist, author and television director.

Just over two years after his songwriting partner Alan Blaikley died, Ken Howard followed him at the age of 84 on September 24.

The British pair wrote Have I The Right? for The Honeycombs and The Legend Of Xanadu for Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich (both UK #1s), Me And My Life for The Tremeloes, and Manana for the Bay City Rollers. For Dave Dee and his friends, they wrote a whole string of other Top 10 hits from 1966-68: Hold Tight, Hideaway, Save Me, Okay!, Zabadak, and Last Night In Soho.

They were also the first British composers to write for Elvis Presley, including his hit I’ve Lost You.
