Der Rockabilly-Musiker (Gesang, Gitarre etc.) und Song-Writer Dorsey Burnette wurde am 28. Dezember 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee, als Dorsey William Burnett Jr. geboren und verstarb am 19. August 1979 in Canoga Park in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, Kalifornien, erst 46-jährig, an einem Herzinfarkt. Man berichtet, dass er den Unfalltot seines jüngeren Bruders
Johnny Burnette (links klicken) (25.03.1934 - 14.08.1964), mit dem er gemeinsam auch viel Musikalisches unternahm, nie ganz überwunden hatte.
