Der Sänger und Musiker der Countrymusik sowie Radiosprecher Ernest Ashworth wurde am 15. Dezember 1928 in Huntsville, Alabama, als Ernest Bert Ashworth geboren und verstarb am 2. März 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. Seine ersten, nicht sehr erfolgreichen Plattenveröffentlichungen, erfolgten unter dem Pseudonym Billy Worth. Erst nach dem Wechsel zu DECCA und dann zu HICKORY, mit Veröffentlichungen als Ernest Ashworth, ging es bergauf.
