Kurz-Bio:
Der Tenor-Saxophonist, Komponist und Bandleader Illinois Jacquet wurde am 31. Oktober 1922 in Broussard, Louisiana, als Jean-Baptiste Jacquet geboren und verstarb am 22. Juli 2004 in Queens, New York City. Der Trompeter Russell Jacquet, der sich manchmal auch als Vokalist betätigte, war sein älterer Bruder, der sehr viel mit Illinois zusammengearbeitet hat.
