Vor vielen Jahren sind wir im Forum übereingekommen, dass wir nicht nur die dem Forums-Titel entsprechende Musik, sondern auch jene Musik behandeln, die es neben „unserer“ Musik in den Fünfzigern auch weiterhin nebenbei gegeben hat. Ich halte mich strikt daran und daher bekommt von mir jeder Interpret, der in diesem speziellen Zeitraum Singles mit 45 RPM veröffentlichte (Vokal, Orchester etc.), unabhängig von der Stilrichtung, eine Single-Disco. Das galt natürlich auch für Frank Chacksfield und obwohl er kaum meinem Musikgeschmack entspricht, hat er eine Single-Disco mit 45er aus seiner Heimat Großbritannien bekommen. Einem Mitglied unseres Forums, der dieser Musik offenbar mehr zugetan ist als ich, fehlten aber Chacksfields drei TOP 10-Titel in seiner Heimat, da es diese nur als Schellacks gab, weil in Großbritannien die Umstellung auf 45 RPM erst etwa im Herbst 1954 erfolgte. In den USA hatte Chacksfield auch zwei TOP 10-Titel und die gab es aber, weil die Umstellung auf 45 RPM in den USA bereits im Frühjahr 1949 erfolgte, bereits als 45er-Single. Damit auch die 45er Hits von Frank Chacksfield in den USA zum Tragen kommen reifte unserem Chacksfield-Fan der Wunsch nach einer US-Disco für den britischen Orchesterleiter und da ist sie nun.
