Der Song:
Musik und Text des Songs "Wheel Of Fortune” stammen von Bennie Benjamin und George David Weiss. Die Erst-Veröffentlichung gab es im Juni 1951 durch Al Costello, vorerst ohne besonderes Aufsehen. Erst durch die Cover-Versionen von Sunny Gale und insbesondere durch Kay Starr, erreichte dieser Song im Februar 1952 erstmals die Charts, sowohl POP als auch R&B. Bei uns blieb dieser Song weitestgehend unbekannt. Vielleicht können sich Schellack-Freaks der Jahrgänge 1936 und älter noch an das Jahr 1952 erinnern, da gab es von Gitta Lind auf TELEFUNKEN A 11 331 sogar eine deutschsprachige Version namens „Das Glücksrad“ mit Text von Joachim Fuchsberger. Auch Österreich machte damals mit Charlotte Rank mit. Das war aber vermutlich schon alles, was es darüber in Bezug auf unser Einzugsgebiet zu berichten gäbe.
