schwarzer Hautfarbe - nicht zu verwechseln mit unserem Country-Mann.

Frederick Earl "Shorty" Long stammte aus Birmingham, Alabama. Er lebte
vom 20. Mai 1940 bis zum 29. Juni 1969. Begonnen hatte er auf Tri_Phi und
Harvey Records, bevor er 1963 bei Motown landete.

Kurz-Bio:
Der Soulsänger Shorty Long, er beherrschte auch die Instrumente Klavier, Orgel, Schlagzeug, Mundharmonika und Trompete, wurde am 20. Mai 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama, als Frederick Earl Long geboren und verstarb am 29. Juni 1969 in Detroit, Michigan, erst 29-jährig, als er mit seinem Freund eine Bootsfahrt auf dem Detroit River unternahm und das Boot kenterte, wobei beide ertranken. Seine erste Einspielung soll er bereits 1958 bei K-SON in Birmingham, Alabama, getätigt haben, aber das ist sehr umstritten. Laut RCS soll es sich um Shorty Long aus Pennsylvania, der dem Country-Bereich zuzurechnen ist, handeln, was ebenfalls sehr umstritten ist. Ich definiere meine Single vorerst als Einstieg des Soul-Sängers, weil es adressmäßig am besten passt.
