Kurz-Bio:
Der Sänger, Entertainer und Schauspieler Dean Martin wurde am 17. Juni 1917 in Steubenville, Ohio, als Dino Crocetti geboren und verstarb am 25. Dezember 1995 in Beverly Hills, Kalifornien.
Für mich tauchte Dean Martin in meiner Jugend erstmals als Filmpartner von Jerry Lewis auf und obwohl wir Burschen diesen krassen Klamaukfilmen dieses Duos nicht wirklich zugetan waren war es für uns Pflicht, jeden dieser Jerry Lewis/Dean Martin-Filme anzusehen. Fragt nicht warum, das war eben so. Als Sänger tauchte er für uns etwas später auf und obwohl uns der eine oder andere Song von ihm auch gefiel, erreichte er bei uns nie eine besondere Bedeutung als Sänger. Was wü ma vun an Rockrolla. Seine ”Revuefilme” die er unter anderem nach der Trennung von Jerry Lewis solo machte, waren auch nicht unser Fall. Einmal hat er uns aber vollends begeistert und zwar als Hilfssheriff Dude in dem Film ”Rio Bravo”. Diese schauspielerische Leistung war nach meiner subjektiven Meinung oscarreif. Wir sind aber in einem Schallplatten Forum und daher geht es in erster Linie um seine Schallplatten.
