Ich habe die Platte Jahrzehnte lang gesucht und vor wenigen Jahren dann die CD
(veröfentlicht 2001 in England) gefunden.
"Add Some Music To You Day", der Titel eines Liedes der Beach Boys von 1970
„recorded in late 1969-early 1970, and planned as a 1970
release on Together Records, this album was intended to
elevate Usher´s childhood friend to the exalted status of a George Gershwin, whilst at the time (Gary was nothing if not businesslike)
infiltrating the lucrative mor/background music market both for
Brian and together…. (nor a vain hope, as a mysterious deal had already resulted in tracks by The Millennium becoming a staple
of United Airlines in flight listening, which they would remain for years and giving Brian some encouragement as he became ever
more reclusive… members of The L.A. Symphony and crack
Wrecking Crew veterans (some of whom played on the original Beach Boys tracks) were employed, and the project given
Usher´s all, assisted by his Together A-Team, Curt Boettcher and Keith Olsen, in order to make this last word in orchestral recasting
of pop music… The Collapse of Together Records, and Brian´s
increasing lapse from both critical and pop music favor did much
to scuttle a project which promised so much, and like the majority
of Together Records projects, it was shelved indefinitely… Now ,
in a time when Brian´s own orchestral take on / reasessment of
his legacy as a songwriter and stylist is very much in the news and
on the agenda, Poptones bring you the original orchestral Brian Wilson …by Gary Usher… Better than ever…
