T-BONE WALKER

Kurz-Bio:
Der Blues-Gitarrist, Sänger und Songwriter T-Bone Walker wurde am 28. Mai 1910 in Linden, Texas, als Aaron Thibeaux Walker geboren und verstarb am 16. März 1975 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien erst 64-jährig an einem Schlaganfall. Walker wuchs in Dallas, Texas, auf und lernte schon als Kind das Banjo-, Fiddel- und Gitarrespiel. Auch seinen Spitznamen T-Bone bekam er sehr früh was nichts anderes ist, als eine Verballhornung seines zweiten Vornamens Thibeaux. In Dallas lernte er Blind Lemon Jefferson kennen, für den er in den Strassen von Dallas quasi zum Blindenführer wurde und ihm half, bei seinen Darbietungen das Geld einzusammeln. Stark beeinflusst von Jefferson's Gitarrespiel und Gesang trat er bereits mit 15 Jahren als Bluessänger auf und überraschte das Publikum auch als Instrumentalist mit artistischen Show-Einlagen. 1929 konnte er bei COLUMBIA bereits seine erste Schallplatte veröffentlichen, allerdings noch als Oak Cliff T-bone und weitere Veröffentlichungen erfolgten als Mitglied diverser Bands.
