Hallo,
Sweet Rockabilly Blues:
Artist Ben Wasson brings new life to some of America's best Rockabilly and Blues compositions in this delightful pulse quickening walk through music history. This album is as full of flavor and vigor as it's artist, Ben Wasson, who started his career with the likes of Buddy Holly's hall of fame producer Norman Petty and is still riding that pony down the stretch with hall of fame producers Brien Fisher and Tommy Allsup. Ben's voice has often been described as Elvis Presley mixed with a touch of Buddy Holly lightly sprinkled with a dash of Little Richard. These are the artists that influenced him. He is the artist that will influence you. You'll enjoy the listen. Guaranteed.
A special nod to The Big Easy for 'Papillon' written under the evening lights of Bourbon Street.
Classic Sweet Country:
Coming out of the Norvajak/Norman Petty camp- whose genuis and music with Holly, Fireballs, Allsup, and numerous other legends influenced the entire free world, from the fifty's on - Ben Wasson's trail of playing with some of the best of the very best is phenomenal. On this "Classic Sweet Country" cd is eight" hall of famers" and hall of fame honorees! Can't get much sweeter than this! Enjoy!
Ode to Baby Boomers:
In the late fifties, U.S.S. Intrepid Sailor Ben Wasson danced at the local USO in New York City to Buddy Holly's famed songs, "That'll Be The Day", and "Peggy Sue". Little did he know that just over a year later, he would be in Clovis, New Mexico at the legendary Norvajak studios, singing into the same microphone, and being produced by same producer as the late great Buddy Holly.
Ironically, Ben's introduction to the trend setting producer, Norman Petty, came by way of Buddy Holly's band "The Crickets", who heard Ben and his band playing in the local resort town of Red River, New Mexico. After their introduction, Ben was invited to write and perform his own music under Norman Petty's tutelage at the now legendary Norvajak studios.
Ben's compilations chartered numerous times throughout the years with twenty six songs registered to his credit with BMI. He often crossed genres, producing compilations in rockabilly, country, adult male vocals, and Memphis blues. He toured from coast to coast decade to decade.
Ben's latest project "Ode to Baby Boomers" represents the vigor and vitality of music's early day, and proudly pays tribute to one of our nations finest generations...the "Baby Boomers."
Gruß
