Hallo Dieter,
Together with Dick Jordan and Jean Phillies, they formed The Demijeans and appeared on BBC radio’s “What Makes A Star“ ... which led to further appearances on shows with such greats as Al Read, Jimmy Clitheroe, Jimmy James and Albert Modley.
Mike Sammes Singers: Backing vocal group lead by British arranger Mike Sammes (* 19 February 1928, + 19 May 2001) with as core group: Valerie Bain, Marion Gay, Enid Hurd, Mike Sammes, Ross Gilmour, Mel Todd and Mike Redway.
In 1962, Mike went to London and joined the Oscar Rabin Orchestra and their singers Barbara Kay and Ray Pilgrim. And Ray introduced him to Embassy ... and over 80 recordings as Redd Wayne, Mike Redway and The Typhoons.
http://www.embassyrecords.co.uk/artists.html
I had suspected that Ken Barrie would have recorded for Embassy when I found out that Mike Redway was one of Mike Sammes singers and I believe that both may have been involved in the recording of the Beatles album Sergeant Pepper. Mike Sammes, I understand recorded as Redd Wayne.
und The Starlings mitmischen sollten.
